ECOYADI-2

RESPONSIBILITY

Responsibility begins with the raw materials

For over 10 years, ECOYADI-2 has been at the forefront of producing and developing recycled and compound plastic materials. Specializing in high-performance plastics like ABS, PS, PP, PC/PC-ABS, and PA(GF), we offer top-quality, eco-friendly solutions tailored to meet the needs of various industries.

Our advanced recycling technologies allow us to process complex WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) plastics with precision, ensuring stability and predictability at every stage of the recycling process. With a commitment to sustainability, we ensure that all Post-Consumer Recycled (PCR) plastics meet REACH and RoHS compliance, offering high-end materials that serve as responsible replacements for virgin plastics.

ECOYADI-2 is dedicated to delivering durable, environmentally conscious solutions, helping manufacturers reduce their carbon footprint while maintaining product quality and performance.

Our Mission

At ECOYADI-2, we play a vital role in closing the loop on plastic production. Once collected, waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) is shredded, sorted, and recycled into high-quality Post-Consumer Recycled (PCR) plastics using our energy-efficient technologies. The resulting eco-friendly plastics are then reprocessed into new, durable products, contributing to a sustainable and circular economy.

Sustainability and Life Cycle Assessment

ECOYADI-2 produces Post-Consumer Recycled (PCR) polymers using only about 10% of the energy required to create virgin plastics. Our advanced recycling process also incorporates renewable energy sources, further minimizing environmental impact.

By utilizing PCR plastics, we reduce CO2 emissions by over 4 metric tons per ton of polymer produced compared to virgin plastics. These eco-friendly materials are increasingly favored in the production of durable goods like electronics, offering the most energy-efficient and carbon-conscious option for contributing to the Circular Economy.

The Production of Virgin Polymers

Virgin polymers are derived from fossil fuels, which are extracted from the earth and transported to refineries. At the refinery, specific fractions of these fossil fuels are isolated and then undergo a complex polymerization process, where they are chemically bonded into long polymer chains. These chains are then extruded and compounded into the virgin tech-polymers we commonly recognize as plastics. However, this entire process is extremely energy-intensive, contributing significantly to environmental impact and resource depletion.

The Production of PCR Polymers

At ECOYADI-2, our process for producing Post-Consumer Recycled (PCR) polymers begins with sourcing WEEE (E-Waste) plastics from electronic and electrical appliances within the EU. Initially, the plastics are cleaned to remove any non-plastic materials and then reduced to a uniform flake size. These plastic flakes undergo a series of advanced separation processes to purify the polymers. Once quality-checked, the purified flakes are homogenized, extruded, and compounded to create the final high-quality PCR plastics that ECOYADI-2 offers. This efficient process ensures consistency and sustainability in the production of eco-friendly materials.

A comprehensive Life Cycle Analysis conducted by EMPA compared virgin polymers, ECOYADI-2's PCR polymers, and the incineration of WEEE plastics. Environmentally, ECOYADI-2's mechanical recycling process stands out as the most sustainable choice among the three, significantly reducing resource consumption and emissions compared to both virgin polymer production and incineration.
